Dr. Santosh G. Honavar is a distinguished ophthalmologist with over 36 years of experience, specializing in Ocular Oncology, Oculoplasty, Eyelid Surgery and Orbital Surgery. Dr. Honavar has extensive expertise in the management of tumors involving the ocular surface, eyelids, eye and orbit, with particular expertise in retinoblastoma. His clinical interests also include ophthalmic plastic surgery and ocular prosthetic rehabilitation. Before joining Centre for Sight, he served as faculty and Head of Department and later Associate Director at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and the Ohio State University Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Honavar has published more than 150 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and contributed numerous book chapters. He has held leadership positions in national and international ophthalmic organizations and has received several prestigious honours, including the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award from the Government of India and the Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
